Transforming Facilities Management in Singapore
SHARE THIS PAGE
As the built environment becomes more complex, there was a need to advance the Facilities Management (FM) from a labour-intensive industry to a more productive and sustainable one.
Changing Perspectives
The Real Estate Industry Transformation Map launched publicly in 2021 created new paradigms for the facilities management sector in Singapore. One which would impact building developers and owners of both public and private sectors; FM service providers, and trade associations. With a 5-year transformation roadmap in place, engaging with the whole spectrum of stakeholders was necessary.
See Space Differently
As key sector challenges and solutions were identified, Activiste developed a memorable and easy-to-understand thematic campaign to engage the broader eco-system of players. A mindset shift in the way facilities management is viewed. As such the 4 strategic pillars of Manpower Development, Design for Maintainability, Smart FM and Outcome Based Procurement contracts which would enable this pivot, had to be communicated with impact.
Sustainable Built Environments
The campaign for a future-ready FM sector may start with the new technologies changing the way the built environment is managed with a growing focus on sustainability and wellness, but it also encompasses how buildings are being constructed. In embarking on this journey of change, it is also important that the industry sees itself with new eyes.
“See Space Differently” perfectly encompassed the key thrusts of the transformation roadmap with a rallying call for change.
“It has been yet another great experience working with Activiste on the re-branding exercise for the facilities management industry by SIFMA. Activiste worked very closely with the SIFMA team to fully understand the state of the industry particularly the perceptions by different stakeholders. They then helped us developed several branding concepts that could re-position how the market sees facility management. The “See Space Differently” concept brought to the fore all the underlying values FM really contributes to their clients, the industry, and the communities. Activiste has a great team under the capable leadership of Kim. We truly appreciate their dedications and commitment to our project.”
