ACTIVATING A NEW POLYCLINIC IDENTITY FOR THE NUHS HEALTH CLUSTER

National University Polyclinics

Following on from the comprehensive identity change in integrating all the entities within the National University Health System (NUHS), Activiste continued work with one of the integrated health cluster’s newest entities – the National University Polyclinics.

CHALLENGE

Having recently updated the group's brand architecture and designed a fresh, new and unifying set of identities for all nine of the NUHS's patient-facing entities, NUP like the other entities was ready to start connecting and communicating with its wide range of target segments. NUHS GROUP identities

As NUP comprised a suite of polyclinics that were previously associated with other healthcare clusters such as the National Healthcare Group (NHG), it was important that the new identity be rolled out at the different polyclinics to help patients and partners understand that these entities now came under the NUHS.

SOLUTION

Activiste worked with the NUP team to quickly implement polyclinic signage across its six clinics; this helped create visibility and clarity that each of these clinics within the western sector of Singapore were part of the NUHS, and its associated entities. To facilitate the future needs of new clinics, Activiste also worked to develop a set of principles to help ensure subsequent signage is installed consistently and that key considerations around legibility across a range of sites are considered.

Beyond building signage, Activiste also worked with the NUP team to develop environmental graphics for the corporate office to better reflect the new identity for staff and partners.

Importantly, Activiste also worked on NUP's inaugural Annual Review in 2017-8 and have worked with them since to develop two more Annual Reviews. The designs of these communications material that were both staff and stakeholder facing, needed to be carefully managed as we looked to bring the new identity to life, without a fuller visual identity system currently in place.

IMPACT

The suite of activations ranging from signage through to environmental graphics and communications material work in concert to reinforce and bring both NUP's and the wider NUHS's identity system to life in a compelling and impactful way.

To facilitate the future needs of new clinics, Activiste also worked to develop a set of principles to help ensure subsequent signage is installed consistently and that key considerations around legibility across a range of sites are considered.

"Activiste started working with NUP on their annual reviews over the transitionary years starting from 2018 - capturing the new integrated, team-based approach it has cultivated. It has been a relationship that has enabled us to work efficiently and effectively with a client that has a clear vision of where it is going and what it needs to get there." - Kim Faulkner
