Kwan Chong Wah

Research Director

Chong Wah is a director of Activiste and co-founder of Acorn Group, bringing almost 45 years of research experience, including 19 years advising on Activiste's integrated research and strategy projects.

Before founding Acorn in 1985, he was a director at an international research firm. A trilingual researcher (English, Mandarin, Cantonese), he is equally adept at qualitative and quantitative methods, and has led research since 1979 across sectors including tobacco, liquor, beer, banking, and personal care—building decade-long relationships with clients such as Asia Pacific Breweries, Guinness Anchor Berhad, British American Tobacco, Standard Chartered Bank, and F&N. His regional experience spans all of Southeast Asia, with the past 12 years focused on China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

Beyond his professional work, Chong Wah is along time Community Chest volunteer (with contributions officially recognised) and has taught at SIM and MIS for many years. He holds an Economics degree from the University of Singapore.
