The Methodist School of Music (MSM) was set up in 1996 to assume the role of the Council of Worship and Music, for the Methodist churches in Singapore.

Reaching out to a new generation of musicians and church goers

The Christian worship music landscape has evolved dramatically with the growing influence of contemporary Christian music, and the flourishing of new worship music schools. With this, it became evident that the churches, and MSM itself had to adapt to remain relevant.

A connector bridging churches, communities and individuals through music

Activiste reviewed past documents on stakeholder consultations to understand current sentiment and strategic direction for change. This resulted in the co-creation of a new Vision impacting current and new stakeholder segments.

A new brand identity and dynamic visual system stemming from the brand idea of “Music Shaping Moments” were developed to encapsulate all the different aspects of the strategic direction for the organisation.

A fluid and dynamic identity was designed to capture and embody the spirit of diversity and inclusivity. With the “S” taking on different font styles and colours to illustrates how good music can shape and sustain people spiritually, psychologically and socially.

Revitalisation and extended reach

The new branding fostered renewed purpose and energy to MSM, with a new Community Music department focused on enriching the lives of vulnerable groups through music.

Beyond creating a unique look and feel for MSM, the Visual Identity System was deliberately designed to be highly adaptable across different formats and channels, easy to apply, yet always recognisable.
