Greater Things Happen Here

Duke-NUS Medical School

Renewing the DukeNUS campaign in 2024 to reinforce what the medical school represents and contributes to the advancement of healthcare, research and education.

Challenge

Continuous Renewal

For DukeNUS, the campaign is more than just an advertising or admissions campaign. It was a way of reminding faculty, researchers, clinicians, scientists and students from the medical school as well as SingHealth, what it stands for and the impact it seeks to create.

Solution

Building the campaign from within

Beyond a signage programme for named facilities and for way-finding, Activiste was also involved in translating the Greater Things Happen Here campaign across different levels and spaces within the school. From the reception area to lift lobbies, walls near the admissions office, as well as common spaces where students, faculty and partners congregate.

The campaign has been used to tell the DukeNUS story through different lenses and the people involved in the school.

Building the campaign from within was a core part of how the school sought to create an environment in which stakeholders are reminded of the longer-term impact they create each day.

Beyond social media and external communications, the campaign was expressed through the environmental graphics for the school.

Impact

Greater Things Happen Here

From inception and the launch of its signature research programmes, to admission of the first student cohort, to the first made-in-Singapore cancer drug, to pioneering work on the Covid-19 vaccines, the medical school has stayed true to its vision of Transforming Medicine and Improving Lives.

“We have worked with Activiste on several projects since 2019, primarily because we find them creative and innovative in their approach (it helps that they are a very friendly and flexible lot). They ask the right questions, plan as per the institutional needs and always deliver on time, each time.

I also like working with them because unlike bigger agencies where you get the “suits” at the pitching time and then only get “boots” for execution, Kim is always there for each discussion and presentation. We have just completed a new brand campaign, with their assistance and we are still finalising a strategic signage policy project.”
